Rash 4 * |
This posterior-oblique view of a female Marburg patient’s back (case #2), depicts a measles-like rash, which is a usual symptom of this viral illness. This patient was hospitalized in Johannesburg, South Africa, 1975. This type of maculopapular rash, which can appear on Marburg patients around the fifth day after the onset of symptoms, usually may be found on the patient’s chest, back and stomach. This patient’s skin blanched under pressure, which is a common characteristic of a Marburg virus rash.
