Description: As a schizont, these are the various forms that the developing malarial parasite undergoes prior to the release of merozoites.
The later schizont stage of development involves the asexual erythrocytic parasite, which has begun its division into merozoites, and thus is characterized by the presence of multiple ”contiguous” chromatin dots.
